A minor point, which nevertheless goes to the heart of the lack of 
communication. IIRC, in the old RTI/Ingres/ASK days, any engineer or 
staff member in a technical position was added automatically to a 
regional "tech" mailing list and those were aggregated into 
"world-techinfo". Unfortunately, that practice was not continued at CA, 
nor currently, so now "world-techinfo" is by requested subscription only

and thus not the best means to get the word out. In fact, I would bet 
several of my fellow DBMS engineers may not even know about it.
