As an interesting aside, this was a MySQL company decision (the decision 
was made before the Sun take over). Sun have standardized on using 
hg/Mecurial for other projects (I've not yet seen any information on why 
hg though). They have also outsourced the (public?) bzr repository 
location/support to Canonical.

Sun are interesting as they are clear less platform neutral than Ingres :-)
