I would say that it would be a good idea to remove all previous posts 
except the one you are responding to so some context is maintained.

I would also say that posts should be in text, not HTML or RTF, as that 
is better form on mail lists.  I was able to set a flag in Thunderbird 
so that all outbound e-mails to this address are always sent in text.  
Not sure how to do it in Outlook but there is probably something similar.
